The Amitriptyline (AMTL) Rapid Test (Urine) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the detection of Amitriptyline in human urine at a cut-off concentration of 1.000ng/mL.

 

Amitriptyline (AMTL) is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) primarily used to treat mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, While effective for mood disorders, it is now frequently prescribed off-label for managing chronic pain, such as neuropathic pain, migraines, and fibromyalgia, and for preventing tension headaches. It works by increasing the levels of neurotransmitters, specifically serotonin and norepinephrine, in the brain to restore balance. Due to its sedative effects, it is often taken at night. However, Amitriptyline has a narrower safety profile compared to newer antidepressants and can cause side effects like dry mouth, weight gain and drowsiness.
